Does anyone else think Venmo is just as toxic as other social media apps?

We all know why Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. hurt our mental health.

I used Venmo to pay my college tutors and my roommates (i.e., for rent, food, and laundry).

Venmo makes it seem like it's "in" to pay your friends every week/month for eating out, wine, and travelling. These friends are either tight childhood/high school or college friends. As someone who has never had a fulfulling social life ever since she was born, I just discovered how much the Venmo feed hurt my feelings...ever since last week I have stopped spending time on social media, even Venmo.

It's normal to feel pathetic if you have no social life...but you can easily control how much time you spend on social media. Admitting you waste all your time feeling miserable by stalking others' wonderful social lives (and living through them vicariously) is more pathetic, isn't it?
