I don’t know if this is the right place to post this but here goes:
I have a company that I used to work for that somehow has my personal phone listed as their contact number on their Google business listing.
I tried myself to have it changed to no avail. I have spoken to the owner and he refuses to take any action. I did manage to get it changed to his actual phone number for about three weeks but it went back to mine. I suspect it is because the address on his listing is not accurate any longer and he did not verify the change. I was told by Google that for it to be changed permanently he would have to contact them/edit his listing.
I now operate a competing business about 10 miles away, and have had the owner accuse me of trying to steal business/threaten to sue me. I can assure you this is not intentional since it isn’t even my business number that is on his listing. I have no idea how my number is on his listing. I did help him make multiple listings on Google maps so perhaps I used my phone to verify the listing/address at some point or some customer suggested an edit?
How can I get my number off of his listing?
